Susan Terrill Offers Professional-Quality Music Lessons

Philosophy

You are making an investment in your child that will include and extend beyond the realm of music. Music students learn their instruments, but also learn self-discipline, organization, self-confidence, responsibility, and improved study skills. These skills, in addition to learning the skills of music will reap lifetime dividends in many arenas.

Payment

I require a nine-month contract for my music lessons. Students will be asked to commit to a full school year in order to utilize my services. All lessons are held in my home. Prices available upon request.

Payments are due at the first lesson of each month whether the student is in attendance or not. Music classes are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. There are no refunds and a 48-hour advance notice is required in order to reschedule a class permitting availability. Unfortunately, no credits or refunds due to lessons missed because of schedule conflicts, appointments, sporting events, or illness. I will attempt to reschedule lessons provided a 48 hour notice has been given for a maximum of 2 times per semester.

Attendance

Tuition secures your child's place on my schedule. Regular attendance and practice is critical to progress and achievement. Please be prompt on drop off and pickup. Please do not arrive more than 5 minutes early to your lesson unless you have made arrangements with me.

Inclement weather

If school is in session, we will have lessons. Many times the roads are passable by the afternoons even when school has been canceled. Please assume we are having lessons. If road conditions are safe, then lessons will go on as scheduled. If they are canceled, I will contact you before 3 pm.

Recital

All students are expected to perform in the spring recital. The date will be announced before the end of the calendar year. Great effort is made to ensure that recitals are fun and positive celebrations of what students have accomplished. 

Music Cost

The music will cost between $60 and $80 dollars for the year. Music that is downloaded will be charged to the student account.

Schedules

The lessons run from August 15-May 31. There are no lessons the week of Thanksgiving, the week of Christmas and New Year's, and Spring Break. We do have lessons on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and President's Day.

Summer

Students are asked to take 6 lessons during the summer. These are scheduled around camps, family vacations, and other summer activities. 

Exit

Should you find it necessary to exit at the end of the 9 month term, please contact me to notify me of your plans 30 days before the end date. This must be done over the phone or in person outside of my teaching time. Notices given via email or text will not be accepted. You will be responsible for the tuition during that 30 days whether you take lessons or not. This gives me time to fill the spot. This will be enforced.
